Container office in Tirunelveli: Portable Office Cabin's standard white corrugated steel site office with a charcoal lower band and three hooded sliding windows, shown in a yard; product image, not a Tirunelveli site

If you need a container office in Tirunelveli, you are most likely setting up at one of three kinds of site: a plant or contractor yard at SIPCOT Gangaikondan, a solar or wind project somewhere between Radhapuram and Kayathar, or a building project in Palayamkottai or along the bypass. All three have the same problem. The work starts next week, the site is bare, and a brick office would take a month you do not have and would be rubble when you leave.

A container office from Portable Office Cabin arrives finished. We build it at our own factory near Hosur, Tamil Nadu, fit it with insulated walls and roof, wiring, sliding windows, lights and fans, load it on a trailer and place it on your site with a crane. The standard manufacturing lead time is typically 10–15 days from order confirmation; transit time to Tirunelveli district is assessed separately for each order.

Nellai is no longer a quiet district town. SIPCOT Gangaikondan now hosts solar cell and module manufacturing, new SIPCOT industrial parks are proposed near Nanguneri, and the district carries one of the largest concentrations of wind capacity in Tamil Nadu. Every one of those projects needs a site office, a security cabin and a lockable store before the first slab is cast. That is the work this page is for.

Why project teams in Tirunelveli choose a container office

Anyone who has run a site in Tirunelveli in May knows the two enemies: the heat and the wind. A tin shed is unbearable by eleven in the morning, and a flimsy one does not survive a season in the wind belt. A proper container office handles both, and it moves when the project does.

    • Ready in days: The unit arrives fitted out to the agreed specification. Connect power, and the site engineer is at a desk the same day. Factory fabrication keeps the work on your site to a prepared base, placement, levelling and connections, which suits wind, solar, quarry and highway sites away from town.
    • Built for 40-degree afternoons: Glass-wool or PUF insulation in the walls and roof, sliding windows with grills and insect mesh on request, an air-conditioner point and a light roof colour where specified help keep the cabin workable through the afternoon. Sealed sliding windows also help limit wind-blown dust at quarry and open-country sites.
    • Anchored for the wind belt: Units going to Radhapuram, Tisaiyanvilai, Kayathar, Valliyoor or any ridge or coastal site are placed on concrete pedestals or a plinth and can be tied down with holding-down arrangements specified for the site. The method is confirmed after reviewing ground conditions and exposure, and no wind-load performance is guaranteed beyond what the approved quotation and drawing state.
    • Moves with the work: Gangaikondan this year, a substation near Valliyoor the next. The same office goes back on a trailer with everything inside it, subject to its condition and suitable lifting and transport arrangements.
    • A written quotation, with transport shown separately: The quotation lists the shell, fit-out, optional fittings and transport to your site as separate lines, so you can see what each costs before you confirm.
    • Holds its value: A steel office resells or goes to your next project; a brick room costs you a demolition bill.
    • Security posts and project camps: A 10 × 8 ft cabin serves as a gate or weighbridge cabin, and several cabins can be combined as an office, a store, a rest room and a security post to form a compact project camp, subject to the site layout and transport feasibility.
    • Customized layout on a durable steel frame: Workstations, enclosed partitions, drawing tables, document racks, security counters, pantry arrangements and attached toilets can be selected, on Mild Steel structural framing with exterior sheet and protective coatings made for outdoor installation.

Fabricated at our factory and delivered as one unit: roof, insulated walls, windows and door arrive fitted, so a site in the district needs only a prepared base, placement, levelling and connections.

Site office containers and the other layouts we place most around Tirunelveli

Nine layouts cover most sites in the district; project camps usually combine two or three of them placed side by side.

    1. Solar or Wind Project Office – 30 × 10 ft plus a 20 × 10 ft store

The project manager's closed cabin, a drawing table, four desks and a lockable store for meters, cable drums and tools next door, with an attached toilet for sites away from town facilities. Placed on pedestals and tied down where the site needs it. Goes to the sites around Radhapuram, Tisaiyanvilai, Kayathar and Valliyoor.

    2. SIPCOT Contractor Yard Office – 20 × 10 ft

Project office for the civil, electrical and piping contractors building or expanding plants at Gangaikondan, and administrative cabins for the units themselves. Often ordered as a set of two or three with a toilet block.

    3. Construction Site Office – 20 × 8 ft or 20 × 10 ft

For contractors on residential, commercial and infrastructure projects around Tirunelveli, Palayamkottai and the bypass: a working desk, drawing table, electrical sockets, lighting and document storage.

    4. Gate Security Cabin – 10 × 8 ft

Guard's sliding window facing the gate, a register desk, a fan and a light. For factory gates at Gangaikondan and Sankarnagar, substations, material yards and gated layouts in Palayamkottai.

    5. Quarry and Crusher Cabin – 10 × 8 ft or 20 × 8 ft

Weighbridge operator's cabin with a wide window and a sealed door, or a supervisor's office and record room, with PUF insulation to help limit heat and dust. For the blue-metal units around Manur, Cheranmahadevi and Nanguneri, placed on a level pad away from blasting and haul-road traffic as the site layout requires.

    6. Layout Sales Office – 20 × 10 ft, glass front

Reception, one closed cabin, a floor-plan wall and air-conditioning provision, placed road-facing at a plotted layout in Maharaja Nagar, KTC Nagar, Reddiarpatti or along the Tirunelveli bypass.

    7. Institution Cabin – 20 × 10 ft

Admission counter, exam cell or temporary classroom for the colleges and schools in Palayamkottai, with a ramp and two windows a side.

    8. Project Camp Units – 20 × 10 ft modules

For longer-duration projects that need an office, a store, a rest room and a security post together, arranged as a compact camp with internal partitions, attached toilets and pantry counters where required.

    9. Office and Storage Combination – 20 × 10 ft

A divided cabin with an office area and a lockable storage section for tools, instruments and documents, for contractors, maintenance teams and project operations that need secure storage beside the desk.

    Container office sizes and specifications

Five standard footprints cover most sites in Tirunelveli district; custom lengths and double-storey units with an external staircase are available on request, subject to technical feasibility. A 10 × 8 ft cabin (80 sq ft, 1–2 seats) suits a gate security cabin or a weighbridge cabin at a quarry or crusher; 20 × 8 ft (160 sq ft, 2–3 seats) a site engineer's office at a building project or substation; 20 × 10 ft (200 sq ft, 3–4 seats) a contractor's project office at SIPCOT or a sales office for a layout; 30 × 10 ft (300 sq ft, 4–6 seats) a project office with one closed cabin at a solar or wind site; and 40 × 10 ft (400 sq ft, 6–8 seats) a site headquarters with two cabins and an attached toilet. Standard build on every unit:

    • Main structural frame — fabricated Mild Steel structural members with suitable reinforcement according to the approved cabin design
    • External wall construction — MS corrugated sheet or GI sheet, depending on the selected product specification; common exterior options include 1.2 mm MS CR sheet and 1.6 mm GI sheet, with protective primer and paint in the colour specified; a light roof colour can be specified for the heat
    • Wall and roof insulation — glass-wool insulation in 25–50 mm options or PUF insulation in 40–50 mm options, as specified in the quotation
    • Roofing system — weather-resistant steel roofing with appropriate sealing and rainwater drainage arrangements
    • Flooring — 18 mm cement board with vinyl or SPC floor finish options, supported on the fabricated steel base structure
    • Doors and windows — aluminium or UPVC sliding windows with locking arrangements, grills and insect mesh on request, and suitable MS or aluminium doors
    • Electrical installation — FR/FRLS wiring, LED lighting, switches, sockets, fans, distribution board and optional air-conditioning provisions; runs from site supply or a generator sized for the fit-out
    • Base and anchoring — fabricated steel base for placement on a prepared level pad or concrete pedestals, with lifting points and holding-down arrangements for wind-belt sites specified in the quotation
    • Add-ons — western toilet, pantry counter with sink, glass front, partition cabins, split AC, workstation furniture, exterior signage, a lockable store section and other required fittings

Final material thicknesses, insulation, fittings and quantities are specified in the approved quotation and drawing.

Container office price in Tirunelveli: what moves the number

Six things decide the final figure: size; bare shell versus furnished; glass-wool versus PUF insulation; a toilet or pantry to plumb; glass front versus standard windows; and transport, which is quoted as a separate line for your site in Tirunelveli district. GST, unloading and optional fittings are additional unless specifically included in the final quotation. Send us your site location and the size you need and we will send a written quotation, not a range. In detail, the quotation reflects:

    • Overall size — Overall cabin size and height.
    • Shell or furnished — Bare shell, or fitted with partitions, workstations and furniture.
    • Structure and walls — Structural steel sections and external wall material.
    • Insulation — Glass-wool or PUF, or non-insulated construction.
    • Interior — Interior partitions and finishing materials.
    • Flooring — Flooring type and thickness.
    • Services — Electrical fittings and air-conditioning provisions.
    • Wet areas — Attached toilet or pantry arrangements.
    • Anchoring — Base and holding-down arrangements for exposed wind-corridor or quarry sites.
    • Logistics — Transport distance from our factory to the site, permits where required and crane access, shown as a separate line.
    • Site works — Site preparation and unloading arrangements.

Buy or Rent a Container Office in Tirunelveli?

Inside a Portable Office Cabin container office — white corrugated steel wall lining with a dark lower band, workstations with monitors and office chairs, grey filing cabinets, sliding windows and LED panel lights over a smooth light-grey floor

Buy if the office will be in use for more than about a year or will move between projects; for solar and wind teams working the district for several years, buying is usually the better value. Rent for a single build-out of a few months. Rental in the district is subject to cabin availability, the rental period and transport feasibility to the site.

    • Purchase enquiries — Share the cabin size, layout, insulation, fittings and delivery location; the quotation lists the cabin, optional fittings and transport to the site as separate lines.
    • Rental conditions — Depend on the container model, required rental period, refundable security deposit, transport to and from Tirunelveli district and applicable taxes; rental charges and terms are confirmed through a separate quotation.
    • Suitable rentals — Construction sites, temporary project offices, wind and solar project phases, quarry operations, industrial administration and short-duration commercial activities.

Contact our team to confirm availability and commercial terms.

Why order from Portable Office Cabin and not a marketplace listing

We manufacture every unit ourselves: no trader in between adding margin and losing the details of your layout. Our range covers portable office cabins, container site offices, security cabins, portable toilet cabins, storage containers, labour accommodation and bunk-house cabins, marketing and sales offices and prefabricated PUF panel cabins, supplied across Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. What you get:

    • Own manufacturing — Steel fabrication, insulation, interior finishing, electrical installation, partitions and furniture integration under one roof.
    • GST-registered manufacturer — A GST invoice with every order; our registration details are printed in the footer of every page.
    • Warranty — Standard structural warranty of 5 years and leakage warranty of 1 year, subject to the applicable quotation terms and product specifications.
    • After-sales support — Warranty and service visits are arranged by our own team for each project. We do not operate a service partner in Tirunelveli, so response times are agreed per project rather than promised.
    • Built to drawing — Approval drawings for custom units where agreed, so the cabin that arrives matches the layout you signed off.
    • Long service life — With routine inspection, rust protection and a repaint every few years, the steel structure gives a long service life, which matters at coastal and dusty sites.

Where we deliver across Tirunelveli district

Tirunelveli Town, Palayamkottai, Melapalayam, Pettai, Thachanallur, Vannarpettai and the Junction area; Gangaikondan SIPCOT and Sankarnagar on the Madurai side; Nanguneri, Valliyoor, Radhapuram and Tisaiyanvilai on the Kanyakumari side; Manur, Cheranmahadevi, Ambasamudram and Kallidaikurichi towards the hills; and on to Thoothukudi, Tenkasi and Nagercoil. Transport to any site in the district is quoted upfront as a separate line in the quotation. Cabins travel by road from our factory near Hosur, roughly 550–600 km along NH 44 through Salem and Madurai, so transit time is assessed separately from the 10–15 day manufacturing lead time and depends on the route, cabin dimensions, transport permits where required and the crane arrangement at the site. Wind-farm, solar and quarry sites often involve unpaved approach tracks and open ground, so before dispatch our team reviews the approach road, gate width, overhead lines, turning space, crane access and the base, levelling and anchoring arrangements. Where a single large cabin cannot be transported or placed safely, a modular or sectional arrangement may be considered; final lifting and placement methods are determined after a site-specific feasibility assessment.

    How ordering works

    1. Call or WhatsApp — with the size you have in mind and what the site is. We will ask how many people will sit in it, whether you want AC, a toilet or a store, and whether the site is on a ridge or near the coast.
    2. Quotation and approved layout — A written quotation, with a layout drawing for custom units and the transport to your site shown as a separate line. Confirm the dimensions, entry positions, window locations and internal arrangements before fabrication begins.
    3. Fabrication and inspection — Fabrication starts on order confirmation; the cabin and its fittings are built and inspected to the approved specification. The standard manufacturing lead time is typically 10–15 days, depending on the design, material availability and production schedule; custom and furnished units may take longer.
    4. Get the ground ready — Concrete pedestals or a level, compacted patch; we send the positions and sizes with the quotation. On wind-belt sites the pedestals carry the holding-down arrangement agreed for the site, prepared before the cabin arrives unless site works are included in our scope.
    5. Delivery and placement — Transit time to Tirunelveli district is assessed separately once fabrication is complete. The unit travels by trailer and is lifted with a crane according to the agreed scope; our team levels it, anchors it where specified, connects the distribution board to your supply and hands over.

    Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

    1. How much does a container office cost in Tirunelveli?

It depends on size and finish: a bare 10 × 8 ft cabin costs the least, a furnished 20 × 10 ft office more, and a 40 × 10 ft office with a toilet the most. Transport to your site in Tirunelveli district is quoted as a separate line. Send the site location and the size you need and we will send a written quotation.

    2. How long does delivery to Tirunelveli take?

Standard manufacturing typically takes 10–15 days from order confirmation; custom layouts with a toilet or a glass front may take longer. Transit from the factory near Hosur is assessed separately and depends on the route, cabin size and permits where required.

    3. Do you deliver to SIPCOT Gangaikondan, Nanguneri and the wind-farm sites?

Yes. Gangaikondan, Sankarnagar, Nanguneri, Valliyoor, Radhapuram, Tisaiyanvilai and Kayathar are all within our delivery area, as are Thoothukudi, Tenkasi and Nagercoil, subject to transport and installation feasibility. Send the site pin and we will quote the transport as a separate line.

    4. Will the cabin stand up to the wind belt and the summer heat?

It is built to, when anchored and insulated. On ridge and coastal sites the cabin is placed on concrete pedestals or a plinth and tied down with holding-down arrangements specified for the site; we recommend a site-specific check by a qualified engineer for highly exposed locations, and no wind-load performance is guaranteed beyond what the approved quotation and drawing state. Insulated walls and roof reduce heat gain, and an air-conditioner point is provided where specified.

    5. Can you supply a full project camp: office, store, toilet and rest room together?

Yes. Several cabins can be delivered in one lot and placed side by side: an office, a store, a toilet block and rest-room or bunk-house cabins for site staff, subject to transport feasibility.

    6. Do I need any approval to place a container office on my site?

Requirements depend on the location, intended use and duration. For a temporary site office on your own land or an active project site, a separate building sanction is not usually asked for; for a permanent commercial cabin inside Tirunelveli Corporation limits, or anything on a road margin, check with the Corporation zonal office or the village panchayat. Drawings and dimensions can be provided for the application. This is general guidance, not legal advice.

    7. Can I rent instead of buying?

Rental may be available depending on cabin inventory, project duration, configuration and transport feasibility. Rental charges, the minimum period, the deposit and transport each way are confirmed through a separate quotation.

    8. Can the cabin run without grid power?

The standard electrical fit-out of LED lights, fans and sockets draws little and can run from site supply or a generator sized by your electrician; air-conditioning adds to the load.

    9. Can you add a toilet and pantry?

Yes. A western toilet with a wash basin, an exhaust fan and water inlet and outlet points, and a pantry counter with a sink and a socket, subject to space and technical requirements. You need a water line and a drain or soak pit at the site.

    10. What sizes do you make?

    10 × 8, 20 × 8, 20 × 10, 30 × 10 and 40 × 10 ft as standard. Custom lengths and double-storey units with an external staircase are available on request, subject to technical feasibility.

    11. Can a container office be used at a quarry or crusher unit?

Yes. Quarry and crusher operators use the cabins as weighbridge cabins, supervisor offices and record rooms. PUF insulation and sealed sliding windows help limit heat and dust, and the cabin should be placed on a prepared level pad away from blasting and haul-road traffic as the site layout requires.

    12. Can a container office be used as a security cabin at a factory gate or substation?

Yes. A 10 × 8 ft cabin with a sliding window facing the gate, a register desk, a lockable door, lighting and power points is the usual security post. Larger layouts can combine a security counter with a small office.

    13. Do you have a factory or office in Tirunelveli?

No. Cabins are fabricated at our factory near Hosur, Tamil Nadu, and transported by road to Tirunelveli district. Site visits, delivery and installation are arranged for each project.

    14. Who services the cabin after delivery in Tirunelveli?

Our own team. We do not have a service partner in Tirunelveli, so warranty and service visits are arranged for each project from the factory. Structural and leakage issues are covered by the 5-year structural and 1-year leakage warranty, subject to the quotation terms.

    15. How long does a container office last?

Service life depends on material specifications, environmental conditions, maintenance and usage. Routine inspection, rust protection, a repaint every few years and proper roof drainage help extend it, particularly at coastal and dusty sites.

    16. Can I see a unit before I order?

Inspection of cabins under production or completed units at the factory can be arranged with our sales team, subject to availability and appointment confirmation.
